Troops Thwart Bomb Attack in Borno, Apprehend Suspected Suicide Bomber, IED Materials

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, have averted a potentially devastating terror attack with the arrest of a suspected suicide bomber and the seizure of critical bomb-making materials in Borno State.

In a decisive intelligence-led operation, personnel from the 152 Task Force Battalion apprehended a suspect, Abubakar Mustapha, at the Banki Central Mosque in Bama Local Government Area at approximately 5:40 p.m.

The Media Information Officer for Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, stated that all suspects and materials are in military custody for further investigation.

He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of troops to dominate the area through aggressive patrols and intelligence operations to deny terrorists freedom of action.”The morale and fighting efficiency of troops remain high as we continue our mandate to restore lasting peace,” Colonel Uba said.

He urged the public to maintain vigilance and continue providing timely, credible information to security agencies to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
