The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released a bulletin to schools interested in participating in the 2025 Computer Based WASSCE exam.
As part of their dedication to innovative developments, in line with world best practices, the Computer Based WASSCE was launched in 2024 where the PC1 and PC2 took place.
To further incorporate the Computer Based exam in schools, WAEC has called on interested schools to write to show their interest on a first come first serve basis before January 7th to facilitate the arrangements.
The letter dated 17th of December was signed by Mrs E.N. Onodu, the Senior deputy registrar (Test Administration).
The statement read:
“The West African Examination Council as a world class examining body embarks on various continuous excellent customer service delivery through consolidation of technology driven innovations which are in line with world best practices.
“Amongst these innovations is the computer based WASSCE (CB-WASSCE) which was deployed for the conduct of WASSCE (PC1) 2024 and WASSCE (PC2) 2024 with a remarkable success as evidenced in improved candidates performance and reduced examination malpractice.
“In consolidating these gains, WAEC is now set to conduct CB-WASSCE for school candidates, 2025.
“To this end, the council hereby welcomes interested schools that wish to be part of this landmark innovation to indicate their willingness and preparedness to participate in CB-WASSCE for schools 2025. Your declaration of interest should reach us on or before January 7th 2025 in order to facilitate adequate arrangements.
“It should be noted that schools will be selected for CB-WASSCE on the basis of first come, first served and the adequacy of facilities available.
“All other schools not selected for CB-WASSCE will take the pen and pencil examination.”
