President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after completing official visits to France and South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th Bi-National Commission in Cape Town.
His plane touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 9:10 pm on Wednesday.
The purpose of the visits was to strengthen bilateral relations in areas including agriculture, security, education, health, youth development, employment, innovation, and energy transition.
Following a three-day engagement in France, Tinubu traveled to South Africa on Monday to co-chair the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
During the meeting, Tinubu advocated for deeper collaboration between the two nations, praising South African companies like MTN and MultiChoice for their contributions to Nigeria’s economy. He also acknowledged Nigerian companies such as the Dangote Group and Access Bank for their achievements in South Africa.
Present to receive the president were the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila as well as the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
