Soludo Clears Isuofia Polling Unit With 417 Votes, APC Trails With Four

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has secured an emphatic victory at his polling unit in the ongoing governorship election in the state.

At Polling Unit 002, located on Umuezeadigo Street, Isuofia, in Aguata Local Government Area, Soludo garnered a total of 417 votes, leaving his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, far behind with only four votes. The Accord Party candidate recorded just one vote.

The result was announced by the Presiding Officer, Miss Obiorah Anwulike, at about 5:30 p.m., in the presence of party agents, security officials, and observers. Out of the 430 voters accredited at the unit, eight votes were declared invalid.

Speaking shortly after the announcement, a jubilant Soludo told journalists that the result was “a reflection of the people’s trust and confidence in good governance and progress.” He added, “This victory is not just mine but that of every hardworking son and daughter of Anambra who believes in a better tomorrow.”

Party supporters and community members who gathered at the unit erupted in cheers as the result was made public, chanting songs of solidarity for the governor. Many described the outcome as a “clear message of confidence” in the APGA-led administration.

An electoral officer at the scene, who preferred not to be named, confirmed that voting and counting went on smoothly without any report of disruption or technical issues with the BVAS machines. “It was one of the most peaceful units we’ve seen today,” the official said.

Security personnel were stationed around the polling area throughout the process to ensure calm and order. Residents expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, commending INEC officials for arriving early and maintaining transparency.

Meanwhile, the full collation of results across the state is still ongoing at the time of filing this report.
