Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been detained by Finnish authorities.
According to the BBC, Ekpa was later imprisoned by the Päijät-Häme district court for “disseminating terrorist propaganda on social media.”
The offence reportedly took place in 2021 within the Lahti municipality.
Additionally, the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation arrested four other individuals in connection with alleged terrorism-related crimes.
