A petrol tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit exploded on Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi Road on Wednesday, triggering a massive fire that destroyed at least 30 vehicles.
The explosion reportedly happened when the tanker, which had lost control, crashed on the bridge, sparking a fire that quickly spread.
Eyewitnesses described hearing several blasts, while thick smoke billowed into the sky as people fled the area in panic.
Emergency responders and security forces arrived, securing the scene, setting up roadblocks, and redirecting traffic to facilitate firefighting operations.
