Fresh controversy has trailed the ongoing marital dispute between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, following a sharp reaction from actress Georgina Onuoha to Nwoko’s comments on Daniels’ substance test result.
The development comes after Regina Daniels disclosed that she underwent a substance test in the United Kingdom, weeks after allegations of drug use were made against her by Nwoko. She shared the test outcome publicly, prompting mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some questioning the timing of the test and others expressing sympathy.
Reacting in a lengthy post shared on her Instagram page, Georgina Onuoha criticised Nwoko’s response to the test, alleging that the politician was uncomfortable with seeing his estranged wife move on with her life.
“I knew exactly what he would do after she went for the test,” Onuoha wrote. “Some men cannot stand the idea of losing control or not having the final say in how a chapter ends.”
Onuoha praised Daniels for submitting herself to medical scrutiny in a country she described as having some of the world’s strictest legal and healthcare standards. She argued that the test undermined the allegations levelled against the actress.
“Science does not support these claims,” she said. “Substances stay in the bloodstream for days and in hair follicles for months. The facts are clear.”
The actress went further to accuse Nwoko of obsession, suggesting that his public responses reflected a desire to maintain influence over Daniels even after their separation.
In another part of her post, Onuoha questioned Nwoko’s moral authority to speak on credibility, referencing a legal matter involving him in the United Kingdom, which she described as public record. She also mentioned his family history, advising that Daniels should be allowed to live freely among her peers.
“He should face women of his own age and professional standing,” Onuoha added, warning that continued public attacks could amount to harassment.
The post triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with many users expressing support for Daniels and Onuoha, while others criticised both women, arguing that the controversy reflected deeper issues of accountability on all sides.
While supporters praised Daniels for taking the test and confronting the allegations head-on, critics questioned why the matter was being fought publicly rather than privately. Some commentators also noted that substance testing alone may not resolve the broader allegations and personal disputes surrounding the marriage.
This is not the first time Onuoha has spoken publicly about Daniels’ marital situation, as she has previously criticised Nwoko over his relationships and past marital issues.
