KATSINA STATE GOVT DECLARES MONDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY TO HONOUR LATE BUHARI

The Katsina State government has declared Monday, July 14, a state public holiday to mourn the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fairview had earlier reported the news of his death which occurred on Sunday evening, July 13 in a hospital in London at the age of 82.

The announcement of the holiday was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari.

He explained that the decision was to give residents the chance to grieve and honour the late leader through prayers and reflection.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda also expressed sorrow over the loss, describing it as a painful moment for the state and the nation.

He extended his sympathy to Buhari’s family and the people of Katsina, stating that the former president devoted his life to serving Nigeria.

The governor prayed for Buhari’s soul and asked God to forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest.
