Nigeria’s Senate, on Thursday, has suspended its plenary till November 19, 2024.
The suspension, which took effect immediately, was decided to allow lawmakers and the various committees to perform their oversight functions.
Remember that the Senate had, earlier in the year, embarked on a seven-week annual recess in July and was expected to resume on September 17, but the resumption was postponed by a week, with the legislators eventually resuming on September 24, 2024.
Before proceeding on the fresh break, the Senate on Wednesday, confirmed the appointment of all seven ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu, which was submitted to the upper chamber for accelerated consideration last week.
