Operation HADIN KAI forces have achieved significant operational breakthroughs in the Timbuktu Triangle, decisively disrupting terrorist infrastructure and capabilities.
The latest offensive has resulted in the clearance and securing of critical terrorist hubs, including Tergejeri, Chilaria, and the Ajigin/Abirma axis.In a statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, it was confirmed that multiple terrorists were neutralized as troops engaged retreating insurgent elements.
During the advance on January 20, 2026, approximately six kilometers north of Chilaria, troops intercepted two Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs). One VBIED was destroyed before reaching its target however, the second breached a defensive perimeter, causing damage to several logistical assets. No significant troop casualties were reported.
In a further indicator of substantial insurgent losses, troops uncovered mass graves containing approximately 20 terrorist bodies. This discovery directly contradicts enemy propaganda narratives and underscores the severe attrition inflicted upon their ranks. These operations mark a continued degradation of terrorist networks in the region, bolstering security and stability for the civilian population.
