The Editor will lead the editorial process — reviewing, refining, and shaping diverse content such as feature stories, investigative reports, interviews, opinion pieces, and digital media publications. The ideal candidate must possess superior writing and editing skills, an eye for accuracy, and the ability to preserve the integrity and tone of FairView Africa’s mission across all platforms.
• Edit and proofread articles, reports, and multimedia scripts for grammar, clarity, accuracy, and tone.
• Uphold editorial standards that reflect the organization’s values of truth, fairness, and advocacy.
• Collaborate with journalists, writers, producers, and creative teams to craft compelling and credible content.
• Guide story development and structure to ensure strong narratives and impactful delivery.
• Manage editorial schedules and ensure timely, high-quality content publication.
• Provide feedback, mentorship, and editorial direction to contributors and junior writers.
• Ensure factual accuracy and alignment with FairView Africa’s ethical and editorial policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven experience as an Editor, Copy Editor, or Content Manager — preferably within a media, publishing, or news organization.
• Outstanding command of written and spoken English, with an eye for detail and nuance.
• Strong understanding of editorial standards, fact-checking, and narrative storytelling.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and a working knowledge of SEO principles.
• Deep passion for African stories, social justice, and impactful journalism.
• Proven knowledge of business media and management
• Active social media presence with knowledge of digital marketing
