The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has announced plans to establish an aircraft manufacturing facility in collaboration with XeJet and local banks. This facility aims to position Nigeria as a regional hub for aviation services, marking a significant step toward transforming the country’s aviation industry.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during the launch of XeJet’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility and flight support centre in Abuja.
Keyamo highlighted the government’s vision to foster local industry and enhance Nigeria’s capabilities in aircraft manufacturing and aviation support services. According to the minister, this collaboration between an indigenous operator and local banks is a milestone, fulfilling a long-held goal to boost Nigeria’s aviation sector.

One of the primary goals of the new aircraft manufacturing facility is to create a sustainable and self-sufficient aviation ecosystem.
