Explosion Rocks Filling Station In Katsina, Vehicles, Houses Destroyed, Persons Injured

Several persons have been injured, six vehicles destroyed and two houses burnt following a gas explosion at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, the state police command confirmed on Friday.

According to the police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the explosion occurred on Nov. 15 when a truck carrying gas cylinders caught fire at Tamal filling station along Kagadama-Magamar Jibia road.

Sadiq-Aliyu also revealed that officers from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and supported by military personnel, promptly responded to the incident after hearing a loud explosion.

No casualties have been reported, but six vehicles were extensively damaged in the fire.

A comprehensive investigation has been ordered by the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, to uncover the cause of the explosion.
