DSS GETS NEW DG ADEOLA OLUWATOSIN AJAYI

The appointment of Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been announced.

This was disclosed in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, on Monday.

This is as Yusuf Bichi  resigned as the director-general of the DSS.

Yusuf Magaji Bichi who is being replaced by Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS). was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018.

The new DSS Director-General, Adeola Ajayi, has risen through the ranks, serving as State Director in several states, including Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.

Bichi’s resignation follows that of Ahmed Abubakar, the Director General of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), who also resigned by submitting his letter to President Bola Tinubu during a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Saturday.

President Bola has since approved the appointment of Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed as the new Director-General of the NIA.

Ambassador Mohammed brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in various capacities since joining the NIA in 1995, including postings in North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, and as head of the Nigerian mission to Libya.

President Tinubu expects the new security chiefs to work collaboratively to reposition the agencies for improved results, leveraging their experience to address the country’s security challenges in tandem with sister agencies and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
