The Director of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Dogara Ahmed, has requested for collective efforts in the search of a missing corp member, Yahaya Farouk who has been missing since October 14th 2024.
Ahmed stated this during his visit to residents of Ikuru town, in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, the host community of the missing corp member.
He urged the youths and elders of the community to assist security agencies in searching for the corp Member.
He further stated that it is the responsibility of residents of corps members’ host communities to provide security and welfare packages for corpers serving in their domain.
The disappearance of the Corp member from his PPA is a cause of worry and National concern as to the safety of corpers. While many have criticised the objectives of the NYSC program, it is important that the lives and safety of corpers are paramount.
