Dangote refinery slashes petrol price to N899.50

Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre, aiming to provide relief to Nigerians as the holiday season approaches.

The announcement was made in a statement by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, on Thursday.

Africa’s first privately-owned oil refinery had previously reduced the price to N970 per litre on November 24.

This latest price cut is intended to alleviate transportation costs during the festive period, when travel expenses typically rise for many Nigerians.

Chiejina also revealed a special offer, stating that consumers can purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought in cash, provided they obtain a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.

“To reduce transport costs during the holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a special discount on PMS. Starting today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Additionally, for every litre purchased in cash, consumers can buy another litre on credit, with a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina said.

The refinery expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-quality, environmentally friendly petroleum products at competitive prices.

Chiejina further highlighted that Dangote Refinery is working to end Nigeria’s reliance on substandard and blended imported petroleum products, which have historically posed risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
