COURT BARS EDO GOVT FROM IMPLEMENTING SUSPENSION AGAINST LG CHAIRMEN

A High court sitting in Edo state has ordered the Edo state government to allow the suspended 18 local government chairmen and their deputies to continue their duties pending the hearing on the case.

The 18 local council chairmen suspended by the Edo State House of Assembly had approached the Court seeking an order against the implementation of the suspension.

The Court while ruling on Suit No B/307/OS/24, on Friday, granted the prayers of the 18 council chairs.

In his ruling, Hon. Justice Efe ordered the Edo State government not to effect the suspension resolution pending the hearing and determination of the notion.

The case was then adjourned to 17th of February 2025 by Justice Efe.
