BUHARI COMMENTS ON SINCERITY OF PUBLIC OFFICE HOLDERS, SAYS HE GETS MONEY FROM RENTING HIS HOUSE

The Former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, while commenting on his sincerity during his tenure, says his feeding money comes from the rent being paid on one of his houses as he did not enrich himself using public funds.

He made the assertion while addressing the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall of the Government House, Katsina State, on Saturday.

According to him, it is important for political and public officeholders to be accountable and transparent.

“After my eight years as a civil president, I have only three houses; one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have given one out for renting where I get money for feeding,” he stated.

While speaking at the same event, Buhari described Nigeria as a challenging country to govern, citing the complexities of its issues and the burden of leadership.

Reflecting on his time in office, Buhari said his administration faced immense challenges despite efforts to address the nation’s issues.

“Those outside the corridors of power do not understand the complexities and difficulties facing Nigeria,” the former president stated.

Buhari’s tenure ended in May 2023 after handing over to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023.

He also commented that his health has significantly improved since leaving office.

“My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me told me I look better than before,” he revealed.
