To reward exceptional performance in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has awarded a total of ₦4 million to four exceptional indigenous students who achieved remarkable results in the 2024 JAMB examinations.
Governor Mohammed, represented by the Head of Service, Yahuza Adamu, emphasized that this initiative is designed to motivate other students to pursue academic excellence.
The awardees, Kawthar Shehu scored 348; Geoffrey Yakubu 347; Abdullahi Garba 347; and Magaji Umar 333.
They were honoured during a ceremony on Tuesday, January 14, at the Ministry of Education in Bauchi.
Each student received ₦1 million to assist in their pursuit of higher education.
“This gesture demonstrates our administration’s commitment to investing in human capital development and encouraging outstanding academic performance,” Governor Mohammed said.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ali Babayo, revealed that the ministry initiated the idea to motivate students across the state.
