Army Neutralises 11 Terrorist in Sokoto in Daring Operation

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that at least 11 terrorists have been neutralised by troops of Operation Fansan Yamma Strike during a well-coordinated ambush in Sokoto State.

The daring operation, according to a statement shared on the official Facebook page of the Nigerian Army Headquarters on Wednesday, was carried out near Kurawa Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area.

The army revealed that the ambush disrupted a planned attack on Tara Village, described as “a critical area for cross-movement by terrorist and bandit elements.”

The army said, “Acting on precise, credible intelligence, the strike team executed a well-coordinated ambush, engaging the bandits in an intense firefight.

“The operation resulted in the neutralisation of 11 bandits, while others fled with gunshot wounds.”

The Nigerian Army further revealed that the troops recovered some dangerous weapons, including 8 AK-47 rifles, 5 extra magazines and 26 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition from the terrorists.

In a related development, troops have reportedly killed one of the country’s most wanted terrorists and kidnap kingpin, identified as Kalamu.

According to military sources quoted by Vanguard, the wanted terrorist was killed during a Special Forces operation conducted by the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Sokoto on Monday.

Kalamu was said to have been responsible for several kidnappings in the area before he met his Waterloo at the hands of the military forces.
