APC Sets July 24 for NEC Meeting to Appoint New National Chairman

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for July 24 to nominate a new National Chairman for the party.

This follows the unexpected resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as National Chairman last Friday.

In the interim, Ali Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North), assumed leadership of the party on Monday.

Speaking to journalists after an emergency meeting at the party’s national secretariat, Barrister Festus Fuanter, Deputy National Secretary, confirmed that the NEC meeting will provide the platform for the party to select a new Chairman.

He also disclosed that an official notice of the meeting has been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
