Akpabio Declares Kano Secure for APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared that Kano State is already secured for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Akpabio credited Kano’s firm APC backing to the influence of Lado, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

Akpabio also commended Lado’s impact in office, particularly in maintaining confidentiality between the presidency and the Senate.

“Since Senator Lado’s assumption of office, we have not had a single leakage of private communication between the presidency and the Senate,” Akpabio said. He emphasized that preventing leaks strengthens national security and governance.

He further described Lado’s work as “unprecedented”, praising him for enhancing executive-legislative relations and ensuring seamless communication between President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly.

In response, Lado praised Akpabio for his steadfast support of President Tinubu and his “renewed hope agenda.”

“Your presence here symbolizes the harmony between the executive and legislature,” Lado said, adding that Tinubu has found a dependable ally in Akpabio, who champions his policies with passion and legislative action.

With top APC figures strategically positioned, Akpabio expressed confidence that Kano would remain in the party’s control in 2027.
