Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has added nine Nigeria-eligible players to the club’s Premier League squad for the first half of the 2025–28 season following the close of the summer transfer window on September 1, 2025.
The Gunners’ squad comprises 21 main team players alongside a secondary list filled with under-21 talents and scholars of various nationalities. Among these, a notable group of young prospects eligible to represent Nigeria has impressed Arsenal’s coaching staff with their ongoing development at the acclaimed Hale End Academy.
This cohort includes goalkeeper Khari Ranson; defenders Josh Nichols, Cam’ron Ismail, Josh Ogunnaike and Samuel Onyekachukwu; midfielders Ethan Nwaneri and Ife Ibrahim; and forwards Andre Harriman-Annous and Daniel Oyetunde.
Of this group, Ranson, Nichols, Ismail, Nwaneri, Harriman-Annous and Oyetunde hold professional contracts, while Ogunnaike, Ibrahim and Onyekachukwu began their second scholarship years in July 2025. Notably, midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has already made 29 Premier League appearances, netting four goals and assisting twice. He holds the record as the youngest player to debut in the Premier League, making his first appearance at just 15 years and 181 days old.
While Nichols and Harriman-Annous are yet to make their top-flight debuts, their ongoing progression within Arsenal’s ranks suggests further opportunities lie ahead.
