The former Special Assistant on Digital and Creative Economy in the vice president’s office, Fegho John Umunubo, has reacted after President Bola Tinubu relieved him of his duties.
The President, in a statement by Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House, Abiodun Oladunjoye, had sacked Umunubo on Monday.
According to the statement, Umunubo has been disengaged with immediate effect, and no longer represents the administration in any capacity.
The State House also warned stakeholders and members of the public against engaging with Umunubo in the name of the federal government.
Meanwhile, this came barely a week after Umunubo publicly reaffirmed his support for the Tinubu administration.
Umunubo in a birthday message to Vice President Kashim Shettima on LinkedIn six days ago, had urged Nigerians to rally behind the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu government.
Reacting to his sacking on Monday, Umunubo shared a screenshot of the State House press release on Instagram, writing: “It has been my honor to serve this country and the Creative Industry. Now I am free to fly.”
