Karu Market left in ashes as fire razes shops

Karu Market, a popular market in Karu local govt has unfortunately been gutted down by huge flames which razed down shops and wares amounting to millions. The incident is said to have happened on Thursday night at around 8pm.

The fire took out a huge chunk of the market leaving the traders in despair as they watched their properties and shops in flames.

While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, reports show that only one fire truck was seen on site at the scene of the incident.

The full extent of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but it has left a significant impact on the community.

There had been a similar incident in Wuse Market in the same state where fire had gutted a number of shops in March this year. There had been a clash between law enforcement agencies and the traders. The fire had expanded considerably and destroyed a huge portion of the market before the fire response team arrived.

The incident in Karu Market fire makes one wonder if our Fire fighters are well prepared and committed to solving incidents that involves lives, properties, and investments. Are market traders exempted from having immediate fire response equipment handy? Should one loose hope if there is ever a fire incident in the state?
