WOODS MIGHT TAKE A BACK SEAT THIS SEASON AS SPORT INJURY LEAVES HIM IN RECOVERY MODE

Famous inductee of the World Golf Hall of Fame, Tiger Woods might not be gracing the field this year after undergoing surgery for a ruptured left Achilles tendon on Tuesday, the golf superstar said on social media.

“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” he posted.

The 15-time major champion, who hasn’t teed it up since the Open Championship last July, said he was diagnosed after feeling a “sharp pain” in the tendon when he was practicing.

His latest injury setback comes less than a month before the first major of the year, the Masters at Augusta National.

Orthopedic surgeons universally agree that an Achilles rupture typically requires 6–9 months of recovery—putting Woods’s participation in any 2025 majors in serious jeopardy.

Whether he is at all absent from the greens this year remains to be seen.

While this is devastating news for golf fans, sports injuries are not a new phenomenon and have affected many in the world of sports.

Woods ranks second in men’s major championships, and holds numerous golf records. Widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time, he is one of the most famous athletes in modern history.
