BREAKING: Chaos In PDP BoT Meeting As Fight Breaks Out

A violent altercation broke out at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday as a meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) descended into chaos. The confrontation began when Sunday Ude-Okoye, a senior party figure, was denied entry into the meeting and attempted to force his way in.

The incident unfolded when Ude-Okoye arrived at the venue shortly after the meeting had started. Despite his arrival, he was stopped from attending by party officials. Emmanuel Okoronkwo, a protocol officer and aide to BoT member Anyanwu, was tasked with blocking Ude-Okoye’s entry, leading to a tense standoff.

Determined to attend, Ude-Okoye made several attempts to push past Okoronkwo and enter the meeting hall. As the situation escalated, Ude-Okoye’s supporters intervened by scaling the fence surrounding the party’s secretariat. In a dramatic turn, they overpowered Okoronkwo and other security personnel, breaking through the blockade.

The scuffle caused a temporary breakdown in security at the party’s headquarters, with officers struggling to regain control of the situation. Police and military vans have since been deployed, and security has been reinforced to prevent further disturbances.

Among the key figures in attendance at the meeting were Adolphus Wabara, chairman of the BoT, and Umar Damagum, the PDP’s national chairman. However, Ude-Okoye and his supporters remain outside the meeting hall, waiting for a resolution to the conflict.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions within the PDP, and the party’s leadership will be closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds.
