The presiding judge of the Ibadan stampede case, Justice K. B. Olawoyin, has fixed Tuesday, January 13 as the date for the delivery of his ruling on the bail application filed by the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, Naomi Silekunola, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and Abdulahi Fasasi.
The case was read at the Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan on Tuesday.
While Hamzat is the proprietor of Agidigbo FM, an Ibadan-based radio station, Fasasi is the Principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan.
They are currently standing trial over the stampede which occurred during a Christmas funfair at Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, in December 2024, an incident that claimed the lives of 35 children.
While the bail cases were heard separately in a proceeding that lasted over five hours, the state also filed a counter application against the bail of the suspects.
