The Senate has postponed the screening of the recently nominated individuals as new Ministers to Wednesday October 30th, by 12pm. This was announced in a statement by the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on National Assembly matters, Basheer Lado.
The screening of the new Ministers nominated by President Bola Tinubu was expected to take place today. The statement added that the postponement was to allow the nominees to conclude all necessary documentation.
The statement reads; “The scheduled screening of ministerial nominees has been postponed by the Senate. This is to allow all nominees to conclude all aspects of documentation and pre-screening exercises.
“The screening has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 12 noon prompt.
We appreciate your understanding and patience.”
President Tinubu had earlier conveyed a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio to screen and confirm the seven ministerial nominees. This was read during the plenary last Thursday.
The nominees listed in the letter are as follows: Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment; Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development; Idi Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development; Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State for Housing; and Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State for Education.
