Military Nabs Alleged Drone Supplier, Kills Insurgent Commander in North-East Operations

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 64-year-old man suspected of supplying drones to insurgents and neutralized a terrorist commander in separate operations across Adamawa and Borno States.

The military announced the successes in there official Facebook handle on Friday, detailing a series of raids and ambushes aimed at dismantling insurgent supply lines.

In Adamawa State, troops acting on intelligence, and supported by local vigilantes and hunters, apprehended the suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, at the Madagali Motor Park. Authorities allege he was involved in supplying drones to terrorist groups.

Military sources revealed that items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones, various drone accessories, and 20 solar power banks. According to the statement, the drones were intended to be modified and used in attacks against troops

.In a separate incident, troops from Sector 4 neutralized an insurgent commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa during an ambush along the Visik River line. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the scene.The statement also confirmed the arrest of 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, described as a logistics supplier, in the Visik General Area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

Items found in his possession included an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs. He is currently in custody for further investigation.Further north, in Borno State, troops from Sector 2, working alongside local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), repelled an insurgent attack in Ngamdu.

During the encounter, they neutralized an alleged informant attempting to breach their defensive positions. Logistics items were also recovered during that operation.

The Military High Command has commended the troops for their dedication and sacrifices, urging them to sustain the momentum in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign.
