Military Deploys Personnel, Patrol Vehicles in Kubwa After Unknown Men Trailed Lt. Yerima

The military has reportedly deployed personnel and eight patrol vehicles to the Gado Nasko Road area of Kubwa after reports of the trailing of Lieutenant A.M. Yerima by unidentified persons on Sunday.

According to Vanguard, a convoy of eight military vehicles was seen patrolling the Gado Nasko axis at about 7 p.m., a development believed to be connected to concerns for the officer’s safety.

The military has also confirmed that the alleged trailing incident is under investigation.

Reports from media outlets stated that Yarima was trailed by unidentified men dressed in black and riding in two unmarked Hilux vans with no number plates.

The sources stated that the vehicles allegedly followed him from the NIPCO Filling Station off the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.According to the report, the officer noticed the surveillance and executed a “strategic manoeuvre,” successfully evading the suspected assailants. The incident reportedly occurred around 6:30 p.m.

The matter is reportedly under investigation and is receiving “the seriousness it deserves,” noting that further details are being withheld to avoid compromising the process.

Remember that Yerima, while on duty with other security personnel, recently clashed with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over a disputed land site in Gaduwa District of Abuja.
