Abuja Hospital Dismisses Viral Claims On Regina Daniels’ Alleged Drug Treatment

Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja has debunked a viral medical document claiming that Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is receiving treatment for drug dependence at its facility, describing the report as entirely fabricated.

The document, which circulated widely online, alleged that Daniels had been diagnosed with substance use disorder and was undergoing a home detox programme that supposedly started on September 24, 2025. It even carried the signature of the hospital’s Managing Director and Head of Clinical Services, Dr Adekunle Adesina.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the hospital distanced itself from the publication and urged the public to ignore it.

According to the disclaimer, “Our attention has been drawn to a post on an alleged mid-term home detox report being circulated online in the name of Serenity Royale Hospital with respect to Nwoko Regina. We wish to state clearly that the publication and circulation of the said post containing classified information did not emanate from us and respectfully request the public to disregard the same.”

The controversy comes on the heels of accusations earlier in the week from one of Senator Ned Nwoko’s wives, who claimed on Instagram that Daniels once exposed her to drugs and alcohol. She said the alleged influence nearly destroyed her marriage six years ago and insisted that her husband maintains a zero-tolerance stance toward substance use.

“You also know that my husband completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking. He has always been clear that he would never accept any wife who drinks, smokes, or uses drugs. The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction. It has always been a serious matter for him. My husband’s quick insistence on intervention rescued me from that dark path,” she wrote.

Before the allegations emerged, the co-wife had been posting cheerful family updates online, including a short vacation clip captioned, “Too busy building my peace, life and family, no time for anything else.”

Meanwhile, Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, has been released from police custody. He was arrested and charged with conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation and theft – offences linked to a petition reportedly filed by Nwoko.
