Four hundred Nigerian nationals deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are back to their home country.
According to the Nigerian Television Authority, the deportees were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser, in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, the National Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant stakeholders.

The deportees comprised 90 females and 310 males.
The Director, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Katherine Udida, said the return was facilitated in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser.
She said in line with its mandate, the Commission is providing psychosocial support and a reintegration programme for the deportees.
According to Udida, the Commission is working with relevant Agencies and the Government of the UAE to investigate cases of maltreatment and unjust deportation to ensure justice for the deserved citizens.
